FOR EVERY SOLUTION THERE IS A PROBLEM
Susan Jacobs

27 October - 4 November 2007

‘FOR EVERY SOLUTION THERE IS A PROBLEM’ is a sculptural installation
involving the incongruous obstacle of a large dead tree, a domestic
scale doorway and a false wall structure, inhabiting the space of
Ocular Lab.

The work operates as a type of physical and conceptual quandary,
reflecting on the binary relationship between obstruction and
thoroughfare.

Susan Jacobs’ practice has a basis in drawing and installation with
strong emphasis on the spatial and site specific. Previous exhibitions
include Structure, Place and Space – Kangaroo Ground War Memorial, All
In An Afternoon – Monash University Faculty Gallery, Pitch – Victoria
Park Gallery, The Robert Jacks Drawing Prize – Bendigo Regional Art
Gallery and Abject Arousal – Conical Inc, Melbourne.
